How To Use Guide

Step 1

Find a quiet area where it is easy for the mother to lie down and relax in order to hear the heartbeat easier, once ready place earpieces of the stethoscope on.

Step 2

Using the large cone end of the stethoscope bell, press gently onto the lower abdomen area and slowly move around to locate the baby’s back. (Detection is easiest after the 20-week mark of pregnancy)

Step 3

Carefully listen for the sound of the baby’s heartbeat, it should sound like a rhythmic whooshing noise. (i.e. whoosh, whoosh, whoosh)

Step 4

Once the heartbeat is located, begin counting the beats heard per minute and document. A baby’s heartbeat will beat faster than adults and will likely register around 120-160 beats per minute.
